Google has decided to pay Immersion Corporation to settle law suit against Motrola
Motorola was sued by Immersion over the use of basic haptic technology in May . However, Motorola’s new boss Google is settling the matter out of court. Google acquired Motrola for $12.5 earlier this year.
Immersion Corporation of California, is a developer of haptic technology.The company was founded back in 1993 Immersion’s technology is employed in different industries like medical training, automotive, entertainment, computing, and 3D simulation applications. Immersion’s patent portfolio includes over 700 pending patents in the U.S. and other countries
Google is settling down the matter with Immersion and will pay to address any past shipments and license issues for future Motorola shipments. It will also look into certain issues including the disputed vibration techniques for Google-badged hardware.
