“Homeless Billionaire” Nicolas Berggruen

“Homeless Billionaire” Nicolas Berggruen earned his net worth from hedge fund Alpha Investment Management. He sold his stake in that company which he co-founded in 1988 to launch Berggruen Holdings.
The billionaire is a 46-year-old American and owns a three-billion-dollar fortune. Interestingly, general public does not knowmuch about him. Strangely, he is  a homeless man and lives in hotels.
When he made his billion-dollar fortune on investments and media business, Berggruen began to lose the interest in acquiring material values. Real estate, cars, works of art, jewels and other valuable things have become a burden for him. The billionaire started selling his property: apartments in New York, a villa in Florida. He intends to sell his last vehicle in the nearest future too. 
Berggruen is not married and has no children. He plans to leave his fortune to charity by setting up a special foundation. In addition, Berggruen will bequeath his valuable art collection to a Berlin museum.
Nicolas Berggruen says that he has no place where he could keep his paintings because he has no home.
“Everybody is different and I think that we live in a material world. But for me, possessing things is not that interesting. Living in a grand environment to show myself and others that I have wealth has zero appeal. Whatever I own is temporary, since we’re only here for a short period of time. It’s what we do and produce, it’s our actions, that will last forever. That’s real value ,” Nicolas Berggruen believes.
It is worthy of note that Berggruen tries to avoid communication with reporters. He also does his best not to let his name appear in newspapers and magazines. When a Dutch magazine published an article about him, the billionaire simply bought all the copies of the magazine and destroyed them.Nicolas Berggruen is not alone in his noble deeds. Passion for philanthropy and demonstrative denial of material values has become a current trend of modern-day billionaires.
Russ Alan Prince, who owns a firm that tracks the habits of the rich, believes that modern billionaires think about how they are going to be remembered after their death. Some of them realize that if they want to do something then they have to do it now, otherwise they will not have any time for it afterwards.

Google has bought VirusTotal

Google has bought VirusTotal, a web-based security tool developer, to fortify the defenses of its Chrome web browser.The search giant said it will uphold the maintenance of VirusTotal’s online malware scanning tool and keep its team operations a separate entity.
VirusTotal is an online security service that allows users to scan files and websites for potential malware infections through its web-based scanning tool.

The company said the Google deal will give pull in more resources and allow developers to keep building on the service, but remained mum on how deeply integrated its service will be with Google products.
“VirusTotal will continue to operate independently, maintaining our partnerships with other antivirus companies and security experts. This is an exciting step forward,” said VirusTotal.
“Google has a long track record working to keep people safe online and we look forward to fighting the good fight together with them.”
The VirusTotal buyout strengthens Google’s portfolio of web-based apps and services as part of a lineup reorganization and spring-cleaning of seldom used products.

Iran Plans to replace Google & G Mail

Iranian Govt has announced a local replacement to Google and G-mail in light of the ban on the e-mail service, which was caused by an anti-islam movie.
This decision by some Iranian officials has been criticized by the local media. Gmail was blocked last week in the country, but the parent search engine Google remains unblocked.


The anti-islam movie which was produced in the United States was found by a court to be distributed by YouTube, owned by Google.
From Iran’s population of around 75 million, official statistics point out that about 32 million use the Internet. A lot of people have had feelings towards this ban, including even pro-government newspapers.
According to Hussein Garrousi, a parliamentary committee on industry member, “some problems have emerged through the blocking of Gmail.” He suggests that the ban should be lifted immediately.
According to Ali Hakim Javadi, deputy minister of Iran, the ban may be lifted soon, but not  before local alternatives will be presented. These are the Fajr email service and the Fakhr search engine. Fajr means “Dawn” and Fakhr means “Pride.”
Over one month since the ban, Iranians have spent as much as 4.5 million U.S. dollars just to buy proxy services so they could reach blocked sites.

Facebook and Dropbox
Facebook has recently started to offer the ability to send and share files on groups using an internal system.
Unfortunately, it is limited to 25 MB, and users want to be able to send larger amounts of data.
Well, considering that such improvements require infrastructure improvements, Facebook has chosen to team up with Dropbox to provide full service sharing.
In result of the partnership with Dropbox, now Facebook users can use their own accounts to make common group files of any size, and they appear as normal items that can receive comments and Like’s. Currently the function isn’t available for all users, but it’s already active and will soon appear as an option on all groups. Considering how easy it is to upload something on Dropbox and the fact that this service is available from any device, Facebook has chosen very well this service partnership.
Obviously, in this way, also Dropbox has the opportunity to increase their profits and therefore the number of users, because a normal account provides access to only 2 GB of storage space. Those who want more space have to pay a monthly fee

Steam for Linux
The company have been internally testing the Linux client for a while, and recently announced that an ‘external’ beta Linux users would be coming out ‘sometime in October’.  No specific date was given.


Gabe Newell has talked in an interview to the website GameTrailers.com about the scheduled release of Steam for TV (known as “STEAM’S BIG PICTURE” mode) and Steam for Linux. He has confirmed that the BETA versions of both products are going to be released “fairly quickly.”

Images not displaying in browser
In recent past i had problems of image not displaying in browser. I searched and googled the web but none of the answer resolved my issue. At last i found out that actually there was a problem with my OCX control (Flash player activeX installer).So i downloaded the same from  http://adobe-flash-player-activex.updatestar.com/ and got my problem resolve.Images are now displaying properly in browser
important :-It should be noted that there are two things, First the Adobe Flash player and second one is ACtive control X .Remember you have to installed both. or download Adobe Flah player along with Adobe Active X plugin

Rumors of Hina Khar and Bilawal love goes viral

Internet across the globe has gone viral over the rumors about the love affair between Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto.
Expectedly, it has become juicy stuff in the political circles of Pakistan.
According to revelations made by a Bangladesh weekly, the 35-year old Hina Rabbani Khar and Bilawal, younger to her by 11 years “plan to marry and settle down in Switzerland.”
President Asif Ali Zardari, father of Bilawal is completely opposed to their affair, said the sensational Blitz. And that it was he who “ caught them red-handed when they were in a compromising position in his presidential palace.”
The weekly also talks of a possible divorce between  Hina Rabbani Khar  and her businessman husband Firoze Gulzar. The affair, it says, has prompted Gulzar to seek her phone call details from the authorities. The brainy and beautiful  Hina Rabbani Khar , who stole the thunder when she addressed a joint press conference along with her Indian counterpart S M Krishna in Islamabad recently, is mother to two daughters. Bilawal is unmarried.
Hina Rabbani Khar, currently in USA along with Zardari who on Wednesday addressed the United Nations General Assembly, has not reacted to the scandalous reports. Zardari’s worry, the weekly said, is that the scandal would not only finish his son’s political career but also sound the death-knell for the ruling Pakistan People’s Party, founded by Bilawal’s grandfather, the late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
However, the mainstream media, including newspapers, refused to buy the story or played cautiously as they did not pick up the startling report.

Youtube blocked in Pakistan

Pakistan telecommunication Authority (PTA)  has blocked  video-sharing website YouTube for not removing a film made in the United States which mocks the Prophet Mohammad and has enraged the Islamic world. The website will remain suspended till the anti-Islam film, Innocence of Muslims, is removed.

“Blasphemous content will not be accepted at any cost,” Prime Minister Raza Parvez Ashraf’s office said in a statement.

Attempts to access YouTube met with a message saying the website had been classed as containing “indecent material” and was blocked on the orders of the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA).Prime Minister Ashraf had directed the IT Ministry to block Youtube over the video sharing websites failure to remove the anti-Islam film. According to a statement issued by the PTA, around 700 links of the anti-Islam film had already been blocked after several complaints were received. “Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has proactively blocked and vigorously preventing all access to anti-Islamic video placed on worldwide web via YouTube with the name of Innocence of Muslims,” the statement said.

Rallies across Pakistan over the film intensified today, with thousands taking to the streets, burning US flags and an effigy of President Barack Obama. About 800 people demonstrated in the north-western town of Warai, in Upper Dir district, setting fire to a magistrate’s house and the local press club before a protester was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police.Another demonstrator died after being shot in the head during clashes with police near the US consulate in Karachi on Sunday.

Up to 3,000 university students, teachers and employees marched in Peshawar, the main city of the militant-plagued northwest, chanting anti-US slogans and demanding a ban on the “Innocence of Muslims” movie.The low-budget film, thought to have been produced by a small group of Christian extremists in the United States, has sparked violent anti-American protests across the Islamic world.

Last week, riots erupted over the film in Libya, where a mob stormed the US consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi on Tuesday, killing US ambassador Christopher Stevens and several other staff members.

A total of 19 people have now died in violence linked to the film.

Windows 8 picture password

Windows 8 introduces significant changes to the operating system’s graphical user interface and platform; such as a new interface design incorporating a new design language used by other Microsoft products, a new Start screen to replace the Start menu used by previous versions of Windows, a new online store that can be used to obtain new applications, along with a new platform for apps that can provide what developers described as a “fast and fluid” experience with emphasis on touchscreen input.

However one of its best feature is Picture Password. So What is this Picture Password and new Password Management Tool in Windows 8.
Days are gone where we have to manually type passwords, remember those passwords which are very difficult to memorize when we change them frequently. For security reasons we include special symbols, digits and what not in our password.

Windows 8 introduced an innovative way to login to your computer. Picture Password, the all new password management tool from Windows 8. All we need to do is to record some gesture on the picture and it will be saved as the password to login to the system. Generally it is easy to memorize the gesture compared to the complex passwords.

Even bruteforce attack can not crack this kind of gesture used for password. Microsoft says “Picture Password is a new way to help you protect your touchscreen PC”.

We can choose our own picture and create gestures for password. It is uniquely ours. Once the picture is selected, draw different combinations of circles, straight lines,  taps. The size, position and the direction of your gestures become part of your picture password.

How it works

Once you have selected an image, it is divided into a grid. The longest dimension of the image is divided into 100 segments. The shorter dimension is then divided on that scale to create the grid upon which you draw gestures.

To set up your picture password, you then place your gestures on the field  created. Individual points are defined by their coordinate (x,y) position on the grid. For the line, starting and ending coordinates are recorded, as well as the order in which they occur. The ordering information is used to determine the direction the line was drawn in. For the circle, a center point coordinate , the radius of the circle, and its directionality are recorded. For the tap,coordinate of the touch point is recorded.

When you attempt to sign in with Picture Password the gestures you provide is evaluated, and compared with the set to the gestures you used when you set up your picture password. Difference between each gesture and is analyzed and it is decided whether to authenticate you based on the amount of error in the set. If a gesture type is wrong—it should be a circle, but instead it’s a line—authentication will always fail. When the types, ordering, and directionality are all correct, it is determined at how far off each gesture was from the ones seen before, and decide if it’s close enough to authenticate you.


As an example, let’s take a look at the tap gesture. The tap is the least complex of the three gestures both in number of unique permutations and in the subsequent analysis. When considering whether the spot that you’ve tapped matches a reference spot, our scoring function compares the distance between the gesture you recorded as part of your picture password and the one that you just performed. The score decreases from 100% for a perfect match to 0% when sufficiently far away. Points match when the score is >= 90%. Here is a visual representation of the scoring function for a point in the immediate vicinity of a 100% match.


The area that is scored a match is a circle of radius 3. For any specific tap, a total of 37 (X,Y) locations will return a match.
