Apple Inc. (AAPL) shares dropped first time by 20 percent since touching high to $705.07 on Sept 21. The company is facing tough resistance in tech market from rivals Samsung and Microsoft. 
The situation has been further damped by the news of Foxconn, Taiwan-based company inability to meet customers demand for Iphone 5.
Foxcon, is a leading contract electronics assembler and maker and also provides services to big tech companies like Apple, Sony and Nokia. Foxcon said that the fourth generation smart phone demand is much more than its shipment. Invariably, affecting the overall sales of Apple’s new Iphone 5. 
In recent weeks Apple’s shares have gone down owing to concerns over Management shuffling at executive’s level as well as increased competition mainly with Samsung.

Siemens AG (SIE), shares jumped 3.3 percent to 81.4 euros

Siemens AG (SIE), shares jumped 3.3 percent to 81.4 euros at the open of trading in Frankfurt. Siemens AG (SIE) is Europe’s biggest company that specializes in engineering products, have plans to save $7.7 billion (6 billion Euros) in two years. Siemens aims to raise sales to 12 percent by 2014 from 9.5 percent in 2012.

Chief Executive Officer Peter Loescher said in a statement that Siemens didn’t fully succeeded in boosting of their performance in comparison to its competitors. Loescher was firmed in his statement and said that his company believes that they have to do improvement and they will.

The overall income of company was down by two percent to 1.48 billion euros in the third quarter.The company achieved profit of 5.18 billion euros in current fiscal year against forecasted target of 5.2 billion euros. Good rise in sales were observed with 7 percent increase it touched 21.7 billion euros, which is its 10th consecutive gain.

Wal-mart called it a Thanks giving Day, beginning at 8 p.m. This time Wal-Mart is also offering separate online Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday deals on electronics gadgets and toys.Walmart will offer best deals on electronics gadgets, tablets, home appliances, gaming consoles, and toys. This year Wal-Mart (WMT, Fortune 500), the world’s largest retailer, has offered Black Friday deals quite early.

Wal-Mart’s chief merchandising officer, MacNaughton has promised that Wal-Mart’s Black Friday deals will be best deals ever offered by them.

Finally On Black Friday,starting at 5 am, Wal-Mart’s deals would mostly focus on house holds items, tires and furniture.

AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) plans to invest $14 billion in its Project Velocity IP plan to expand 4G LTE network targeting 300 million customers by 2014

AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) has plans to spend $14 billion on its wireless and wired network Project Velocity IP plan over the next three years. The decision will increase the company’s debt load as more and more smart phones and tablets are switching to 4G networks for higher data rates.
The plan includes expanding of its 4G LTE network to 300 million people in U.S by the end of 2014. Currently, it is targeting to provide 4G network to 250 million people by December, 2013.
AT&T expects that by year 2016 wireless and wire line data will make up 90% of total revenue which presently stands at 80%.
In the third quarter the AT&T showed a positive improvement in its wireless revenue profit .The company also raised its quarterly dividend by 2.3% to 45 cents. The increase in dividend would cost the company an additional $56.8 million a quarter.

Pandora media Inc (NYSE) the world’s largest online radio service provider has filed a lawsuit against the American Society of Composers, Author and Publishers (ASCAP).  Pandora accused ASCAP of issuing a license to iHeartRadio that it was denied for. Its Pandora’s pure effort to receive a lower licensing fee for their music. 
Earlier this year, a negotiation took place between the ASCAP and a committee representing several media broadcasters over Radio Music Licensing issues .The committee represented reps both from Pandora and Clear Channel ( iHeartRadio).

The District Court in Newyork has the sole authority to set a rate that they believe is fair enough for all. Pandora and ASCAP have been negotiating over the issue , however ,with no fruitful results so far.

Apple’s latest release iPad Mini is selling like hot cakes .It has been reported that Apple has roughly sold 3 million iPads in first three days of its launch . For the company’s fiscal year 2013, Topeka Capital Markets’s Brain White expects sales of 30 million iPad minis growing to 48 million iPad minis in 2014. 
The good sale rates of iPad mini and high expectations of further rise in sales is a bad news for other major players of tablet market like Google and Amazon. Apple is concentrating on launch of new mini products in the market, this will further outpace the competitor’s from tablet market.
IDC has reported that presently, Apple holds a roughly 50 percent of the tablet market share. And with 7.9 inch bright display, 4G LTE capability,smart and efficient A6X processor and price tag of $329 the fourth generation Ipad mini is expected to do record business in the fourth quarter.

Vringo Inc shares fell despite winning $30 million suit against Google

Vringo Inc which is also owner of Lycos Inc shares fell to $3.57 nearly by 10% in trading of 36.9 million share. Vringo was awarded $30 million over claims that Google and some of its customers, including IAC Search & Media and AOL had infringed its patents. The patent was filed on infringement charges over Google’s advertising platform ‘Adsense program’ which is also used by its customer companies. 
Google’s shares also fell by $1.24 to $681.72 in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. Google has argued against the claims and said that it did not infringe the patent.
Vringo Inc was awarded 3.5 % rate on continuing royalty for the patents.Although the company had been seeking around $500 million, but Judge Raymond Jackson declared that the company will only get the damage charges after the law suit was filed in Sep,2011.The patent was actually filed by a Vringo inherited company Innovate/Protect (I/P). 
Out of the total awarded $30 million the major share of $15.8 million will be  payed by Google, $7.9 million by AOL, $6.6 million by IAC Search & Media and $4.3 million by Gannett Co Inc the Judge ruled.

Another bad news has further diluted Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) technological warfare with major rivals. A court ordered the company to pay $368 million for violating a Virtual Private Network (VPN) patent belonging to VirnetX Holding Corporation (NYSEAMEX:VHC). Previously, VirnetX has history of filing lawsuits for patent infringements. In 2010, they made allegations against Cisco, Astra technologies and NEC for violating at least five patents.
VirnetX is  a software firm that blamed  Apple of  using a method of a secure communication link b/w computers in a virtual private network  in iPhone 4S infringed on its patent.
Adding further cuts in wounded Apple’s body, VimetX also claimed that Apple has violated Wireless patents in its devices such as the iPhone, iPad, at U.S. International Trade Commission. It is pertinent to mention that VimetX has already successfully won a similar law suit against Microsoft worthing $200 million.

The earlier version,Windows 7,could not bring any good response for Microsoft and only it sold over 670 million licenses ever since it was released.
